The likelihood of John believing the alien theory was slim. Though if it was packaged well enough, and given enough time, he would come around. It took a certain natural talent to be gullible without whims, and John was the sort of man who could convince himself of anything, even if he could not always be convinced by others.

Still. He really doesn't know enough to be suspicious of Gabriel, aside from a general wisdom about not completely trusting strangers.
