Even if Shonsu's judgement is questionable, there's nothing wrong with his reflexes or his training. His own knife is in his boot, but with his free hand, he wrestles Party's bowie knife out of harm's way, and knocks it to the floor.

And it's easy enough that the part of Wallie's brain that was Shonsu is almost disappointed. Does the guy have any idea of what he's doing?
