Daneel hesitates for a moment, caught between the command to drop the subject (and it was a command, even if he'd also been ordered once not to take orders, as conflicting as that was) and the desire to protect Lydia's privacy and the need to prevent pain by telling Kobra the full facts of what had been going on. It's... uncomfortable to be pulled into so many directions. He wobbles, almost imperceptibly, as he works through it.

"You should speak with Lydia," he settles for saying. "I don't believe the situation is as plain as you seem to believe."

There. That's... a safe enough course of action.

"I am as well as can be expected. I'm very pleased to see you today, Kobra. I find that I miss your presence in the house."
