( backdated to day 47ish ) CLOSED
WHO: Galen Howard and Anna Milton
WHAT: Squishing nightmare monster remnants!
WHEN: Day 47?? SUPER BACKDATED
WHERE: Galen's dreamsinsert bad pickup line here
This could be his only chance, so of course he takes the offer. He can still feel it when he's awake, after all -- the uncomfortable, dull pain of healing in his unscathed arm, the silent lurking of what's left of that dog in the back of his thoughts. It makes him afraid to sleep, afraid to slip back out into that dark place, so when Anna offers to help get rid of those final dregs, he's eager. He wants them gone. It's the only way he'll know for sure that he won't end up hurting everyone again.
It takes a long time for him to fall asleep, that night, possibly because he's anticipating Anna, but at some point, he does succeed. There's that familiar feeling of not quite having his footing - the feeling that comes with falling asleep only to, in a sense, wake up again -, and around him, the space is familiar: that hospital room. Ugh. While he waits for Anna to appear, he closes his eyes and focuses on something a little more welcoming, and even this is stretching his abilities further than he has in a while: the hospital room shifts into a well-lit apartment, looking out over a sunny Manhattan.
Galen sighs and drops down on the dark couch, staring across the room at the floor-length windows, and listens for a sign of hissing or fluttering.
