It's kind of the last thing he was expecting, and there's not really any reason for it to bring as much relief as it does? Like, he barely knows her, no matter what their past was, but he thinks she's pretty cool. Funny, maybe kind of annoying in her energeticness but that's just because Dean's so not, and she's pretty great when she's drunk, even when she's petting his face and making him feel kind of weird.

And then she goes and says that and Dean doesn't know what to do with it or how to process it. People don't feel that way about him so easily, and especially not with him not even remembering part of their time together. Though he's about to be kind of a jerk, he totally can't hide where his expression softens, and that sad face turns itself up to eleven before he gets a handle on it.

Reaching up, he takes her arm by the wrist and pulls her hand away from him, and he raises the eyebrow of doom.

"The drunker you get, the more cool points you lose," he says gruffly, but he can't fight the smile at the end when he lets go of her hand and then leans back.

"You sure you want to be friends with me again? It's not like I'm a prize. S'a whole town full of people out there."
