Charles is up and across the hall in moments, the sound of his sister screaming sending a cold bolt of fear into the pit of his stomach. The door bangs against the wall as he pushes through. He almost makes it across the room too, when the searing pain flashes across his skin. Recoiling from the patch of light he thinks for a moment how absurd it is to do so now.

The minute he thinks this he realises several things. He can't feel Erik's mind. The sun literally burns him. And his eyes hone in on his tiny sized sister in a way that doesn't feel natural. Flattened against the wall he takes a breath ( one he doesn't need ) and calls out loud enough to be heard downstairs.
