Ned too, was beginning to nod off. He hasn't been sleeping so well, lately, and it's beginning to catch up with him. But with a wolf at his side, warm and breathing steadily, he feels safer than he has in some time. So his eyes start to slip closed, and he's just slipping towards sleep when the sound of the breathing changes. The feeling changes, too, but not in a way that makes sense. Ned opens his eyes and lets out a comically loud gasp when he spots Jesse.

Moving away is an instinct, and Ned doesn't hesitate. He is gaping like a fish out of water, because the wolf is gone and Jesse is curled up just where it had been, in the exactly same position, sleeping lightly.

"Jesse?!"
