If he's being completely honest, Chuck was expecting something else to come from the snap. He flinches reflexively, expecting pain, to be transported to an alternate dimension, to be changed into a snail, something.
But there was no pain. He didn't even move.
His powers were something else completely. They were still there, but they felt chained. Contained. It flares out, as reflexive as his flinch was, but before he can do anything, his powers hit invisible barriers.
He goes to take another step back, because he has no idea what Dean's done. But his back hits something hard and solid. He spins around to see what, exactly, he's hit to find--
Nothing. There's nothing behind him.
He spins back around to find no one but Dean standing across from him. It's only then that Chuck looks down.
It doesn't take him long to put two and two together. Infinity Circle. He was trapped.
"Dean, no, please, don't-- I haven't done anything!"
tl;dr, oops
