He watches Chuck test the limits of his trap, but he's not going anywhere, and Dean's relieved. No, Chuck hasn't done anything yet, but what if he did? Then Dean would have to do something worse to him, and if he slaps a Prometheus kind of curse on anyone then Dean's not sure how he can break it without killing Chuck. Dean hasn't really been all that into saving people, and he's only into hunting things by way of putting itching powder in their clothes, but someone would have to kill Chuck to save his victims and that's not cool.
Look, helpful trickster, not at all slightly bonkers with his power, and he totally didn't have a bizarre, delusional moment where he collapsed Chuck and Zeus. And he's not projecting his own problems! He's just being a good citizen.
