It really is an effective way to shut him up, and he's glad that more people haven't discovered it. Then again, were anyone other than Charlie to try, they'd probably end up getting punched in the face, so it's probably for the best that nobody else tries kissing him to get him to be quiet. It's taken him long enough to adapt to the idea of Charlie suddenly leaning in and kissing him, anyway -- his usual response to people suddenly getting into his personal space bubble is generally discomfort at best, and outright irritation at worst.

Once he kisses Charlie back, however, he draws away to respond to his comment. "I'm always fucking cranky in the morning."

That could have something to do with rarely sleeping, or at least, not in a pattern normal people do.
