"Just because you haven't seen them doesn't mean they aren't there." Brigid points out the fallacy in Riley's own logic. The wolf writhes, wanting to fight, wanting something to do rather than remain on a leash. She tries to hold it back, but knows she's failing.

When Riley makes the comment, the leash snaps. Brigid growls and her eyes turn blue. She's not even trying to hold back the wolf any more.

Her feet dig into the soft ground beneath her. She regrets wearing shoes now. Her fist lashes out, an aimed punch at Riley.
