Castiel keeps Dean tight against him as he finishes freeing him. Dean's weight is an easy burden.
"I'm not leaving you, Dean. They would have to tear me away."
Dean looks so broken like this and it kills Castiel to think about what it took to get Dean down off the rack the first time around. If he'd known what the archangels were planning... he never would have gotten there so late, even without knowing Dean.
"I'm so sorry." He keeps his grip loose, but sure, so as to not agitate Dean's injuries, but he can't help pressing a little closer than he shoulder, touching Dean temple-to-temple. "I was late, but I'm here now."
