The little boy reminds Alec of his younger brother Max. The childish laughter causes Alec to dig his fingers into his palms and he turns away from the boys with a bitter expression. Max is dead, Alec would no longer catch him reading comics, or chase after him.

He wishes he could leave the dream immediately.
