Ned's comfort in this room, in Daneel's room (though it's still strange to claim ownership on this room), is oddly perfect. Ned should be able to always be happy here, content, comfortable.

"We spoke of my rewriting fairy tales." He's still uncertain about this, whether this is something he should do, is capable of doing, but he's trying. Conflict is necessary for a story, and he understands that, but if has aything to say about it, then he can easily smooth out the things that perplex or bother him about the story.
