Unadventure time
Who: Master and Doctor
What: Routine check up
Where: Outside 4A
It had been a while since he'd seen the Doctor and while that wasn't exactly the end of the world for him, it did leave him slightly annoyed by the lack of contact. They had a lot to discuss still, much of which had been glossed over. Mainly that he was sending his girlfriend to scope him out and that just wasn't okay. More annoying than anything. Course he wasn't entirely sure how much the Doctor knew about that one but it was still annoying regardless.
And if he couldn't complain to the Doctor, who could he complain to? He was somewhat lacking friends.
Not feeling in the mood for a chase, the Master reached out from his mind to find the Doctor. Since helping him piece back together his shambled mind, the Master found a mental connection was much easier to form. And that's why he branched out instead of a long and dull search.
Doctor. Come and play? Outside 4A.
A simple message but one that had to be easy to follow.

Doctor. Come and play? Outside 4A.
A simple message but one that had to be easy to follow.

A few moments later, the Doctor turns up outside the Master's doorstep. "Somehow I have a feeling you aren't thinking of the same 'play' as I am." He tucks his hands in his trouser pockets, and cocks an eyebrow in the other's direction.
no subject
"I suggest you keep her away from me, I can't be trusted. Especially not around your beloved earth girls."
He had a terrible track record with them and he wasn't about to be punished for accidentally losing his temper with one of them. The Doctor was the only other intellectual here and to lose his company would be mind-numbingly boring.

Pinching the bridge of his nose, "I actually did tell her to stay away from you," his hand dropped to his side, "Why did she contact you?" For some reason this uneased the Doctor, but he wasn't for certain why.

"Wanted to chat, get to know me a little. Liked me, actually. Isn't that a little troubling?" the Master sneered, still circling around the Doctor. He couldn't really help himself, he wasn't even that annoyed. He just needed someone to rile up.

Still, what was Mina getting at by contacting the Master? The Doctor would have to ask her about that later. He doubted she liked him, but he kept his mouth shut and relaxed his shoulders. "You're bored." He commented, well knowing the Master didn't do casual chats and a cuppa, "You've been quiet, so you're looking to stir up trouble. I'll make it easy for you: find the lad, Dilandau, he's quite perturbed at me. Although injured he does pack a good punch."

Never trust anyone, don't let anyone get close and play whoever you can. That was what he'd learned in life and it made him much happier. Or so he liked to think. It was just easier to ignore emotions than tackle them like a rational person. "Of course I'm bored, I'm always bored. There's nothing to do here. And as fun as helping someone bash your head in sounds, it doesn't seem that productive."
He'd be much happier to play with the Doctor alone, he always had a preference to one on one. "Made any new progress in your plans to leave?"
no subject
There's a elongated inhale, "Nope!" Exhale. "I don't exactly want a repeat performance, especially with the scientist lot." He rubs at his face before resting his chin in the palm of his hand, glancing over to the Master before admitting, "In a dream the other day, I saw a girl in a room that resembled what I barely remember and yet looked very familiar... She was screaming, throwing things and they restrained her and..." He shakes his head, "I dunno. I woke up in a panic, because I think that's what happened to me."
Mina had asked him about it, knew something was bothering him, but he refused to tell her. Why he felt comfortable telling his enemy this, he wasn't sure.

He was rather hoping to avoid a confrontation. But if he had to, he would. Just for the sake of leaving.
"I was thinking that your original plan to leave wasn't bad, it was just poorly thought out and too showy. Then again, you seemed in the frame of mind to want attention. Honestly, I felt like you were ripping me off," The Master offered a slightly unfriendly smile at the very suggestion, unable to help himself.

"...What are you planning?" Did he even want to know?
no subject
"Why would I tell you? I'm not that thick," And thinking he that was just a little rude, mister. "Besides, I don't really have one. I can't think straight enough to form one."
no subject
It wasn't that the Doctor was jealous the Master was planning something that might potentially work, but the fact that there was a good chance it wouldn't work and he too would suffer consequences like the Doctor. And if that were to happen? There's no chance in the universe the Doctor would be able to return the favor and bring him back from insanity. He could at least have that answer right now for him, and hopefully the Master had realized that by now.
no subject
And he can't fix that. It was insanely hard to plot a grand scheme when his brain felt like it was rotting inside his head, pulsating to the beat of four. He hated it, he felt like he was fighting a losing battle.
"If only I had the luxury of your mind-space for mine to think in. We'd of been gone by now."
no subject
He had made a promise to Mina, at least, and there was no way he'd leave without the others. And then how many were possibly being held by the scientists? That could be another factor.
no subject
Everything immortal is hard at first. Then you adapt. He did anyway and he liked to think his life was easier that way. He'd lost his ability to care about insignificant nothings a long time ago.
"We could just leave. Together. Just you and me. You always said you wanted that, the last of the last of grand race. We could rule whole galaxies, walk among the stars and know we own them all. The universe could easily be ours... if it wasn't for you always holding back."
no subject
Why did he suddenly feel so old and so very tired? "I'll help you, but if you're in it just for yourself, then I'm not sure how much I can help you."
no subject
Hopefully not if the Master can stop it. He wasn't going to save everyone here, just himself. Maybe the Doctor. If he catches him on a generous day.

Finally with a pause and giving the Master a stern look, "They're dangerous, I can't tell you that enough. I don't have a clue as to what we're up against. And those bloody dreams... What was that about? I can't help you." He was going back on his word just a moment ago.
"I can't do this... I can't. I... It's not going to work, and if it fails again, I think they will kill me. I'm a liability. I'm being watched closer than ever now." It wasn't like him to give up, and deep down, he hadn't, just he didn't think he was confident enough to pull anything off now.
no subject
"You're scared because of what they did to you and you can't even remember what it was. That's impressive. They really have a hold on you."
And what made it so insane to him was that the Doctor seemed legitimately scared, as if he was really worried that someone would come and get him. Torture him and kill him. And that left him oddly impotent. "If you back down to them, you're being a coward. And that's never you."
no subject
He sighed and added softly, "I do want to leave, but... Oh, I dunno."
no subject
A deadly combo. With a sigh, he rubbed his forehead and tried to think of something he could say. "You do know. Fear doesn't last, it comes and goes. You'll get over it. And hopefully soon."
no subject
He reaches over to ruffle the already messy blonde hair of the Master's.
But his words did ring true and the Doctor did have a feeling he would be trying again later to get them out. He was never good at sitting still for very long.
no subject
"It's annoying, really. If this was one of my scheme then you'd foil it in moments. But when it's a scary scientist? Oh no, end of the world and you're all done. Come on, fight back," the Master complained, not sure why he was always losing to him. Seemed a little too unfair.
no subject
Taking a few steps back. "We'll see what the future reveals."
Could of sworn I'd tagged this!!! >(
"I'm still going to make a sort of transdimensional teleporter."
And the Doctor would just have to -- well, deal with that.
