Meeting the Roommate

Who: Martha Jones and Becky Rosen
What: Apparently they've been living together for a few days... but Martha's been avoiding meetings
Where: House 5
When: Day 97 probably morning
Warnings: None...

Martha knew she had a roommate. She'd heard the other person, woman she assumed by their habits, at night. But Martha had avoided meeting this person. She knew she was a terrible roommate. All the sound she made those first two days fortifying her room and then the nightmares she knew that were accompanied by shouting.

She snuck out of the house whenever she woke from one, willing to chance the night than deal with an stranger's pity. If she did happen to be in the house when her roommate was in, she would slip out of the room or the house entirely if she heard the other person coming her way. It was a decent system. Stay hidden, stay alert, stay alive.

Today however, things seemed quiet. She didn't hear anyone walking around the house when she snuck back in, so she made her way down to the kitchen for some much needed food.

Becky was only vaguely aware that someone else was living in the house she woke up in. She'd catch glimpses of her every now and again, but, for the most part, didn't bother trying to get her attention. She's always been better at keeping to herself, so she does exactly that and doesn't concern herself with whoever else might be sharing her living space.

To be honest, she did the same thing in college when she had a roommate. They hardly ever spoke, and when they did it was about the most trivial things of little or no consequence. Becky's always preferred her own company more than that of others — unless, of course, those others happen to be Chuck, the Winchesters, or any Supernatural fan.

She gets the feeling her roommate now will be fairly similar to all the other roommates she's had in the past and have zero in common with her. It's just her luck, really.

She's in the kitchen table with her notebook and pen, scribbling down notes for her latest masterpiece — despite the fact that Dean is here and thus makes it a little awkward in the off chance that he ever comes across her little journal — but she needs to get her thoughts out of her head and onto paper, for future reference mostly. She can keep an awful lot stored away in her brain, but with time the finer details of story ideas start to fade, so she likes to jot them down just in case.

Her head jolts up when Martha entering the kitchen, instinctively closing her journal over her pen, and she offers a startled smile.

"Oh! Hi."

Becky keeps her awkward smile plastered on her face through Martha's introduction. She's never been good at this kind of social interaction, and she'd rather just go back to what she was doing, but she'll make the effort to continue this conversation, at least for a little bit.

She forces a laugh and shakes her head.

"Oh, no, I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, it's all good."

Right, she should probably introduce herself as well.

"Um. Becky. That's me. Nice to meet you."
