"Yeah. Kind of scary, actually, how capable they are."

He's looking toward the woods, as if he can see the barrier that way. He knows he can't, but it doesn't stop Sam from trying it every now and then. Focusing back on Meja, he gives her a tired smile.

"It's not the best news. Cooling our heels until something happens is about all we can do. Apparently things do happen occasionally. We had an attack recently. Some kind of monster, out in the water. It wasn't pretty."

Not that he witnessed the event personally, but the aftermath was definitely a good indication of how things went.
