While it's true that Raphael hasn't exactly made it clear to him that he cares enough about the humans that he doesn't want them to suffer, it's also true that he's never heard the archangel speaking lowly of them, either. He should have been able to put it together that Raphael meant a demon rather than a human.

"In that case...it seems like a good idea." Because tossing a demon out first is totally okay, and if there's something waiting for them at the end of the tunnels, he kind of hopes they can throw Crowley out. Although, as far as it goes, he hopes a little more that there's nothing waiting for them.
