The earthquake... well, it's hardly the first one, but it brings home the importance of a few things, and Daneel returns to the house with a degree of urgency. He is looking for Ned. He needs to reassure himself that all is well.

And if he has an ulterior reason for needing to see Ned, well, he'll get to that.

"Ned?" He calls into the house, but he follows what he senses with his mind rather than his ears. The familiar sensation of Ned's mind is, by now, something he's closely attuned to. Just knowing Ned is nearby is reassuring, an easing of resistance in positronic relays, and it gives him strength for what he's decided on, too. It would be selfish to keep Ned near him at all times, he knows that, but he looks forward to how he feels whenever Ned is near.

What: Stane gathered some supplies for a community fire. Consider this a party-style post reacting to the lack of power and the loss of the communicators.

After the power goes out, Stane spends a few minutes standing stock still in the room, holding his breath and waiting for it to come back, but he doesn't waste too much time lingering in that kind of hopefulness. People are going to need things; they're going to need fire to cook and boil water, and they're going to need to do something about the food that's going to spoil.

It's so important that he helps them. It's so important that he helps them stay alive. Maybe the dream sharing is getting to him, maybe it's made his nightmares... feel real, but...

They're going to survive this. He's determined.

He gathers some wood that can be used for firewood and kindling, and he leaves them in the center of the town; he has no way of announcing that the things are there, really, but he cups his hands around his mouth and shouts a general Go to the fountain! Maybe someone will hear him.

She hasn't eaten yet. Shiala seems to have little appetite this morning, and though it's important to stay in fighting form in a situation like this, she can't eat. Instead, she takes to a brisk morning walk around the town, breathing, attempting calm.

She's paid little attention to the diner, before now. This morning, though, she's away from her own house when her appetite returns, and on a whim she slips inside. The smell -- cooking food, delicious and enticing -- welcomes her in, but for a moment she pauses on the threshold, one hand on the door.
