A Visit
Who: Doctor, Donna
Where: Donna's party palace (aka her crib)
When: Day 41
What: The Doctor pays Donna a visit to see if he's capable of altering her memories at a later time.
A small house by the west side of the island. It was sort of secluded, which the Doctor felt was slightly strange, given how sociable Donna was. But this was the house she was staying in, that he was almost certain.
He knocked on the door, then tucked his hands away in his pockets and waited. For once, he was feeling rather anxious at this reunion, but had to remind himself that she's not the Donna he remembered her as; the slapping, motor mouth, ginger... Well, the list went on and could last half the afternoon.

Oh... it was probably her statement about the eye-candy. She shrugged at him. "What? It's true. All the gorgeous guys get swiped. Pretty sure the mad scientists are secretly pervs who keep them locked up in cages, naked and covered in oil for their own sick amusement..."
no subject
"So, despite all that, made any friends? I've talked to a couple people, but not too many."
no subject
"A few, yeah. I mean I was kinda friends with Philbert and Dean before they vanished. And you know Cas? Guy in the trench coat? Yeah. He's probably my best mate here. He's brilliant. Saved my life!"
She took a sip of her tea. "Kenzi is totally brilliant too = crazy, but lovely. Kind of like a little sister I never had." Another sip. "There's others I get on with, but they're not exactly my mates, y'know? More like acquaintances."
no subject
Leaning back in his chair, he nods, "Heard of a few of 'em, but still meeting and greeting."
no subject
She nodded at his question. "Yeah, I get terrible headaches. They've been getting worse too. I got some painkillers but my supplies are running low. I try to sleep them off when I can. Sometimes works. Sometimes doesn't." She nibbled on a biscuit thoughtfully. "I was asleep when you came, actually."
no subject
So she's been having them without his presence, which made him wonder how well he really had sealed off her memories.
no subject
"You some kind of doctor or sommat?"
no subject
He never felt so self conscious in the prescence of Donna before. Perhaps it was the whole fact that he was responsible of her potentially dying, and it killed him to think of that.
no subject
"Small talk so you can pinch biscuits? I know your type."
no subject
"You don't have to answer that; I'm just being silly."
no subject
Donna didn't particularly see it as important and quickly moved on. "So, which house you staying in?"
no subject
Dreams, what kind, he wondered. She wasn't good at giving hints and he was nervous to push more.
no subject
"Have to keep an eye on you, mister! I bet you're a right flirt with all the girls. The gossiping and the biscuits is all a clever front to get into their knickers, isn't it?"
no subject
Hadn't they had a conversation like this when she traveled with him? Seems even without her memories, he gave the wrong impression, and he rubs his face. "She's just a mate."
no subject
"I bet there's a lot of mating going on around your way!" Poor guy. He was never going to get a break. Must be the whole pretty boy face thing he's got going on.
no subject
Open mouth, guzzle tea.
no subject
"Nope. There is no mating going on under this roof. There's just me."
no subject
Maybe he shouldn't try to bring her memories back. Maybe she was better off without him.
no subject
Donna huffed. "Fine. So you're not shagging like bunnies... yet."
no subject
He stood up to refill his cup and took hers with to do the same. Right, blow your cover, Doctor. Really brilliant.
no subject
She watched him closely. "Do you? Snog everyone, I mean?"
no subject
Now the tables were turned.
no subject
"We don't snog. We go on adventures..."
no subject
So she dreamed about him? How many of those were memories leaking out?
no subject
"We go on proper adventures with monsters and aliens and a flippin' lot of running."
no subject
"Right, proper adventures. Very silly indeed." He drinks out of his mug, trying to devise a plan over this.
"And your headaches, do they get better or worse after these 'adventures'?"
no subject
"My head nearly always hurts. I just have to live with it."
no subject
"Perhaps they'll ease." He smiles softly, feeling a bit triumphant.
no subject
"Another biscuit?" She nudged the plate closer to him.
no subject
"Maybe Castiel and I can figure something out to help your headaches, and my friend Mina."
no subject
She swipes a biscuit for herself, taking the smallest of nibbles. "But hey, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger and all that, right?"
no subject
no subject
"OI! There's none of that funny business under my roof!" Unfortunately.
no subject
"Thanks for the tea! And the delightful conversion! Annnnd I'll see you around!" Because if he stayed any longer, once again the risk of causing her to burn was there.
no subject
She huffed. "Do I at least get a hug?"
no subject
no subject
"Well, go on then. Go find your next woman to steal biscuits from. Should call you Six Dinner Sid."
no subject
Pulling away, it was his fingertips that left contact last before he offered a smile, thank you, and walked away.
