watch me, 'cause I'm on a mission
Who: Jesse Finch & Kenzi + anybody else!
What: Galen is gone and his housemates huLK SMASH (or, y'know, window smash). First bit is for Kenzi, second bit is for anybody to respond to!
When: Day 44
Where: House 20 + anywhere else
Warnings: Language! Shouting! Window breaking! Violence! (also, new: mentions of abuse)
[ When Jesse wakes up, the bed is empty.
That's not unusual. Galen often wakes up before him and goes out to do whatever it is he does, drink coffee or mess with the guitar. That doesn't bother Jesse, but this morning he sort of wanted to just sleep on his boyfriend for a while instead of sprawling out in bed by himself. So he gets up to go look, plodding around the house in just his pajama pants. It's not unusual.
What is unusual is that he can't find Galen anywhere. And Galen doesn't answer when Jesse calls him. And - no. No, Jesse refuses to even think that. He will not fucking accept the idea that... that maybe... ]
Kenzi! [ Jesse shouts from the living room, and it is not the shout of a calm person. He's this close to breaking something. ] Kenzi!
--
[ And later, he's not done freaking out. He's just started, really, and even though he'd scoffed a little at the threat of burning down buildings at a disappearance... he doesn't care, now. Because this is more important to him than anyone could be for anybody. He doesn't want to be here, he wants to go home, he wants to go home with Galen, he can't be stuck here by himself, and he's shouting himself hoarse, not bothering with threats, just looking.
And if he has to break a few windows, some glass, with his pipe, well. It's just a sacrifice he has to make. ]

So before she stumbles down the stairs, she takes a sec to pull a hooded sweatshirt over her head and tie up her hair in a messy cross between a bun and a haystack. She groans as she enters the living room.] Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? What did I do and/or forget to do this time?
[... Oh. She's expecting Jesse to look mad, but not bordering on freaked out.] Dude, what's up?

[That is obviously not what is currently happening but Jesse panicking this early in the morning is just going to make her panic and she's done way too much panicking lately to be able to handle this without needing to breathe into a feakin' paper bag! Okay calm it the fuck down.
She closes the distance between them and grabs his upper arm, squeezing gently and staring him down.] Did you check for a note? Pretty sure it won't be in the couch, but good job ruling that hiding place out. Nice. You need to calm down until we know for sure.
[Phil's gone. Clint's gone. The third Natasha is gone. Lydia. The list just keeps getting bigger. THIS IS SO FUCKED UP-- but maybe it's not that. Pleeeeease let it not be that.]
no subject
I looked. I looked for a fucking note, Kenzi, I looked in the kitchen and near the bed and fuckin' everywhere, okay, I looked. Don't tell me to calm down, I'll calm down when we fucking find him.
[ And now he does jerk out of her grasp and stomps off to go look in the kitchen again, but the anger's going to fade sooner or later, and he's going to be a mess. ]

She wants to tell him he's being stupid. She wants to tell him this is totally pointless and there's probably a really simple explanation! But the way this is adding up-- ]
Jesse. [She stands in the doorway, waiting for him to look at her. Her glare fades into something more guilty.] ... We should-- ...check outside. There might be footprints, clues...
[Or, you know, signs of a struggle.]

Jesus, man, I thought someone was dyin' out here. The hell're you doin', crazy?
no subject
M'not crazy. [ He says, a little sharply. ] I'm -- Galen's gone. I'm looking for him, shut up.
no subject
[ At least he's got good reason for why he's so upset. Jesse's face drops as he approaches, his shoulders carefully shrugging. ] Waddya mean - gone? [ A beat, as it dawns. ] Like gone? Like they took him?
no subject
Gone like - like that. Yeah. [ He sniffs again, almost angrily. ] So I'm fucking - I'm looking for him. Gonna break windows until someone answers me.
no subject
[ He's heard shit about people missing, though, just up and gone one day - sometimes they come back, sometimes they don't. ] How long's he been missin'? You sure he ain't 'round here somewhere?

Ghoul crosses the room with steady determination, boots crunching the glass under his feet as he moves towards the broken window. He kicks out the remaining pieces of glass along the bottom of the frame and jumps through it to grab the shirt of the piece of shit that smashed it.]
You got five seconds t'give-- [And he promptly lets go of that shirt.] Jesse?! What the fuck, man?
no subject
Ghoul. Just - I don't got time for this. Lemme alone, I gotta find him.

[ That's not important. It's not important right now. His grip tightens. ] Galen's gone. I'm looking for Galen, asshole.
no subject
So you figured you'd find him by breaking our windows? Help me see your train of thought here, gorgeous, because from where I'm standing it hasn't left the station. Gone where? Disappeared-gone?

When she appears next to Jesse, she doesn't stop him from doing anything, just frowns with concern as she looks from him to the pipe. ]
What's wrong, what's happened?
no subject
They took Galen. Galen's gone, they fucking took him.
no subject
Storming off isn't going to do much though, Jesse, she just follows persistently with a frown on her face. ]
Missing. [ Crap. ] How long? Where have you looked.
no subject
[ He can't stop, it just comes out. ] Galen's gone and I dunno where m'gonna get my next cigarettes and I got fuckin' attacked by spiders and this place fucking is shit, I dunno when I can ever be safe with the goddamn devil running around and all I got is a fucking pipe, what's that gonna do? And now they're taking people from me and -- and -- [ And he smashes in another window. ]
no subject
[ Okay, so telling him to calm down wont solve anything. She knows that, it's not like she dealt well when Balthazar went missing. So she just stops, listens for a moment, and when he's done smashing the next window she reaches out to catch hold of his wrist. Carefully, of course. She could stop him if she wanted to, take the pipe away, but that's not what she's aiming for. He can pull away if he wants to. ]
Jesse, listen. I'll help you look. He could be around still, and if not- well, they come back.
[ ...Sometimes. ]

When he hears Bruce's voice, Jesse freezes. Oh. Oh shit. He flips around and hides the pipe behind his back, biting his lip, trying to hide under his hood. ]
... No? [ He tries, fidgeting. ]
no subject
What am I going to do? Put you in a jail inside a jail?
What's wrong, Jesse? Just didn't like that window anymore?
no subject
He has a lot of respect for the dude, he can't help it. ] I -- no. [ He sniffs, rubs at his nose, distractedly. ] I dunno why I'm doing it anymore, it ain't like it matters, it -- Galen's gone. He vanished this morning and he probably ain't coming back. [ He reaches to pull his hood down more - the bruises have settled in nicely. ] I was tryin' to make a point but it fell through like usual.
no subject
I'm sorry to hear that, Jesse. What point was that?
[ He sees the bruises, but one thing at a time. He's still figuring out the best way to approach this. ]
