The longer it takes the more it goes to waste
Who: Anna Milton and OPEN
What: Anna needs a little time to come to terms with that's happened.
Where: Town centre, by the fountain
When: Evening, day 15
Warnings: Is an irritated & confused angel warning-worthy? No? Probably none. Maybe language.
This is too much. It's quiet here, peaceful even and that almost makes things even worse because Anna can't remember how to handle quiet and peaceful. She's got no idea where she's actually headed when she starts to walk but it doesn't matter, all it needs to be is away and she's happy. It's not an ideal direction - she can distinctly see buildings and she really doesn't want to run into anyone just yet, but it seems just as quiet and peaceful as everywhere else she's seen so far. It's almost enough to make her sick.
She doesn't stop until she sees a fountain, and even as she reaches it she's not sure if she wants to stop for a moment. She stands staring at the running water, with clenched fists and a stony expression, but eventually she starts to relax. The tension slowly dissipates, and eventually she sits down at the edge. Anna's eyes don't move from the statue for anything, and if this is another form of torture then she's not sure what the intent is with all of this. It's never this subtle, never such a disguised attempt and never such a prolonged crescendo. It's almost harder to believe that she's actually out though, because nothing just escapes from prisons like that.
If she's been brought here, it's either for a purpose she wants no part of or it's by something far more powerful than the beings Upstairs. Neither scenarios are ideal, and neither are ones she wants to be a part of. Still, it's a bit late for that now. With a quiet sigh, her gaze drops to survey the floor instead. At least the scenery is pretty.

Something in him, now more than before, was very against putting his face on the devices and talking to people. He knew he needed to get past that, but it just felt... wrong. That something bad would happen if he did. of course, he couldn't remove the thing either. That same something told him it would be worse if he dared to try.
So instead he just kept his radio silence. He rarely even left the stoop of the house that the Winchesters had claimed except to make a quick run to the diner or library. But now that the diner was also gone...
That night, however, he decided to take a quick walk. He needed to move past these irrational fears so he decided to make a very easy trek to the fountain and back. As he got closer, he saw the familiar redhead and smiled a bit. Friendly faces were nice.
"Anna?"
no subject
"Sam, I'd heard you were floating around too." She stands up, stretching her back slightly editor folding her arms over her chest. The smile he gives him this time is much brighter, there's actually some effort behind it and when she gestures vaguely around them she can't help but let out a quiet laugh.
"This place, it's done quite the number on us, huh."
no subject
His hands were dug into his pockets and he was wearing a turtleneck. However, Anna would be able to see that he looked a bit worn for wear, like he was recovering from an accident or something similar.
"I don't talk much on the network, sorry, or I would have said hello. I'm surprised Dean and Cas didn't drag you back to the place we're squatting in. You have someplace to stay here yet?"
no subject
"Dean and Castiel seem somewhat..." There's a pause where she tries to figure out just what it is, then finally continues with a half shrug as she lowers her gaze to the floor, "Somewhat wary of me at the moment. Apparently Cas had further history with me in the future."
It's disconcerting, and it makes it all the worse that she doesn't actually know what their "last meeting" (as it has been put so ominously) entails. She's got her determined attitude firmly in place though, and anyway it's pleasant enough to see Sam after all this time so she's content to push it to the back of her mind for now. That can be tomorrow's problem.
"Gabriel's going to put me up. Seems he's got a place all to himself. How have you been though, stuck here for a while or...?"
no subject
Especially considering he was kidnapped for part of it.
"Who's Gabriel?"
no subject
Well that's disheartening, to say the least. She's been hoping that maybe everyone else hasn't been there much longer than her, but that's apparently too much to ask for. She frowns, and for a moment presses her fingers to her temple lightly, but when she looks back she's calm and collected once more.
"Oh, Castiel and I know him. I would have thought you'd have met him by now. There seems to be a few from our world, I wonder if that might be significant."
She's clutching at straws now, but she doesn't like feeling helpless. She's got to at least try to figure this out.
no subject
He looked over at the fountain, sighing softly. "All that I know here is Dean, Cas, and Jo. Oh, and this Trickster demon that we have had a few encounters with. I think he got sucked in with me because I was trying to escape from one of his traps when I got pulled here."
no subject
It's not really, but she's got to go with something. She's no more experienced at this than anyone else, but she memorizes the name all the same. Coulson. She'll have to seek him out at a later date, when she's got her thoughts in order and her head screwed on straight once more. If she can at least offer her assistance while she's stuck here, she's doing something at least. She can't just sit and wait for someone else to fix things, it's not in her nature at all.
"You think he got pulled here with you? Has that happened to anyone else?"
She doesn't mean to sound so concerned so quickly, but well. She hadn't exactly been having the most pleasant of interactions upstairs when she'd been sucked into this town. The thought that she might have brought someone with her is unpleasant, to say the least.
no subject
For the boy who was the research nerd, he actually didn't know a lot here. There are reasons though.
no subject
She's concerned, she can't deny that as much as she's trying. She softens slightly, a slight smile crossing her face as she shakes her head. She'd gone for this damned walk to clear her head, after all, not worry more about the situation that they have been thrust into. "Are you okay, though? Besides all this...transplant craziness. I mean Dean being here's gotta help a little, right?"
no subject
He looked down at his feet as he licked his lips. "So most people here aren't really talking to me. I think they may be afraid. Far as I know, no one really even went looking for me 'cept for Dean and Cas."
no subject
"I'm sure you don't know who took you then, do you." She shakes her head and, after a moment or two steps in and rests a hand on his shoulder lightly. "You got back here unharmed though, didn't you?"
no subject
He shifts though, pulling himself out of her touch range. "I'm still tender in some spots."
no subject
It strikes her as strange that he's been left to heal himself this whole time, and although there surely must be more to it than just what she can see, she's still confused. "Castiel didn't..offer to heal you, then?"

An exaggerated sigh as he settles by the fountain a few feet down the way--just smiling. Just kind of nodding at Anna. One hand waves tetchily. "Hola."
no subject
"Nothing quite like an outlandish fountain to soothe an over active mind." Her response is a little more dry than she would have liked, and she rubs the back of her neck as she follows with a sigh of her own, brief and far too tired. She shrugs her shoulder once, a little sheepish as she folds her hands in her lap and speaks again. "Sorry, long day. Hi. You are...?"
It's not the strangest thing to happen to her that day, after all. Why not make a little conversation with an eccentric stranger?

She is still somewhat reserved about him, she's not used to interacting with people quite so outgoing. It's hard not to engage with someone as full on as the person next to her, though. She nods again, and he even gets a small laugh from her this time, quiet and huffed out under her breath. It's certainly a good distraction, there's no way to get wrapped up in her own thoughts again when she's trying to hold a conversation. "Very new. Literally just landed here new, wherever 'here' actually is. I'm Anna."

The answer comes quickly, far too quickly for her liking and she actually looks a little embarrassed as she continues, tucking her hair out of her face as she thinks a minute before she responds. "The future. I've spent almost my whole life running from...someone. I've never taken the time to think about anything ahead of me. I want to start."
There's another short pause, and then a lot of confusion as she adds, "Sorry, offloading my life story on you. I don't know why I'm even telling you this."

And he thought he might be able to recognise that feeling in someone else, and a pretty girl tugged at all his heartstrings.
"You look a little lost, miss, if you don't mind my saying so."
no subject
"Am I really that obvious?"
She's smiling, because she'll be damned if after everything she's already been through this is what breaks her. It doesn't quite reach her eyes though, and when Anna makes a movement to stand she's suddenly tired beyond belief. It's certainly been a long day.
"I'm guessing you've been stuck here too then?"
no subject
Wallie gave her a sympathetic smile, and offered her his hand.
"Wallie. Wallie Smith."
He saw no reason to introduce himself as Shonsu while he was here. Sorry, Shonsu.
no subject
When she drops her hand they slide quickly into the pockets of her jacket, and she looks around them quickly. If nothing else it's a pleasant enough looking town, though she can't help but find that almost more ominous than if it had looked scary to begin with.
"I don't suppose you've got any more of an idea of what's going on here than anyone else?" It's a long shot, she's sure he's as in the dark as everyone else, but it's always worth a try.
no subject
In several ways. For one, he was still Shonsu, and second, he hadn't died. At least, he was pretty sure he hadn't died.
"The company seems nice, at least." He gave Anna a warm and flirtacious grin; he couldn't help himself.
no subject
"Well, yes. The people around here could certainly be a lot worse." She's not usually one to respond with anything more than a dry, disapproving look, but then again everything has been unusual lately. So this time he gets a bright, amused smile instea.
no subject
"I keep waiting for a demigod to show up and point me in right direction," Wallie confessed. "It hasn't happened yet. Maybe we're supposed to work it out ourselves, but I wouldn't mind a hint."
And if there were any deities listening, maybe they wouldn't mind sending something his way. A small miracle, or a prophesy. Just something to work from so he could know what the hell he was doing here.
no subject
"Tell me about it. I've never been a fan of orders, but in times like this I almost find myself missing it. It's a hell of a lot easier when you know why you're somewhere, doing something."
no subject
He was tired of gods, anyway. The gods had apparently not kept their promise as far as his happy ending went. He would have excused a lot if he had Jja here with him.
"As it is... it's just disorienting."
Anna, meet Anna :D
So much for all of that — even keeping herself as fed as she'd prefer is simply too risky, right now — but she'll make a social life for herself where she can.
The fountain is charming enough, she supposes — in a quaint sort of way. She can almost forgive it for being the first thing she saw after being kidnapped to this godforsaken place. The redheaded woman, though, is new — and, from the looks of her, another future-person.
Anna's boots click along the cobblestones until she's beside the other woman.
"Another lucky abductee?"
no subject
Her second is to take a much closer look at the woman who has approached her out here, because there's something different about her. She frowns as she eyes her closely, and it must look rather strange that she's staring the way she is but she can't quite help herself. She's obviously from one of these other worlds that the people here keep telling her about, she'd know what exactly it is that seems so different to regular humans otherwise, but she can definitely feel it.
And about then is when she realises that she's staring, and she clears her throat as she looks away. "Sorry, hello. Yeah, my numbers been plucked from the draw as well it seems."
