Where: The Diner
When: Late afternoon on Day 1 after this conversation about lobsters and time travel and plans to become superheroes.

Kobra was glad that if he had to be separated from his friends, there were at least some cool people around. Well, Lydia was kind of a stick-in-the-mud, but she was smart, so he could forgive her. Anyway, she seemed like she'd be a good roommate or at least entertaining. Daneel was cool, though. He was totally high-strung, but maybe that was normal for a robot.

He could already tell that he and Kenzi were going to get along, because she came with a freakin' crossbow! And she slung it around in a totally badass manner! Damn, he missed his laser gun, but at least he had this steak knife for now.

"I think that's a diner over there." He grinned. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Because he was thinking about pies. Glorious pies, Kenzi!

He started walking before she even answered, because that was obviously the best place to explore, right? Right!

Kobra laughed. "Wow, when you say it like that, you make it sound way cooler than wanted terrorist."

He took a big bite of pie. He couldn't remember the last time he'd eaten something that wasn't from a can or a wrapper. This was amazing.

"Skeleton army. Zombies can make you a zombie and it's hard to shoot ghosts." He grinned.

"I tend to have that effect on stuff when I open my mouth." She smirked, eyes taking on an almost mischievous glow.

Even if the pie wasn't poisoned, they were probably going to make themselves sick by eating this much of it. Oh well. It would be totally worth it in the end! Chocolatey goodness. "I'm gonna marry this pie... is what I'm gonna do."

And then bam. Best answer. "YES! Highfive!" Do NOT leave her hangin', Kobra. Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner. "Okay, so it's settled. We basically have to be best friends now or the world is going to implode. What are we doing after we stuff ourselves so much we can't even move? There's no video games... no phones, no... anything." She suddenly looks horrified. "I'm going to die of boredom!"

What kind of best friend leaves a girl hanging? He smacks her hand with his loud enough to get a good clap out of it. "It's true. Though I'm kinda concerned. Do you think the world can handle how awesome we are? Or will the combined awesomeness of the two of us cause mass explosions?"

Amusing himself without fancy toys wasn't hard, though. "Oh, man, have you seen any instruments? We could start a band if we can find instruments. That would be fun. Or we can find board games. Maybe someone had some of the really nerdy ones." He grinned.

"Nah, man, don't worry about it. I'm sure it will only cause explosions on movie sets and in non-populated areas. But when it DOES cause them, we have to walk in slow motion and not look back. Wearing sunglasses. It's a rule."

More like a universal law, actually.

The talk of instruments and starting a band caused her a momentarily pang of heartache-related sadness, but she quickly recovers and just smiles. "Haven't seen any yet. When I do, you'll be the first to know. What do you play? Instruments, not board games. I can play drums and Candyland. I'll show you who knows their colours, Hasbro."

He laughed. He was totally a color champ. She hasn't seen anything yet!

"Bass, mostly, and guitar a little." He takes a big bite of pie, talking with his mouth full. "And Trouble. I like the poppy thing." He does the motion with his hand over the pie. It's nice to have a game that you can play with just the board and some buttons. They really thought ahead about not losing the die. End of the world ready!

"Alright, KK, I think you know what we have to do." She slams her fork down on the counter and somehow manages to get up and stand on the stool without falling and breaking something. With her fist raised to the air, almost touching the ceiling, she yells, "We're gonna raid every empty house for instruments and board games! And if we don't find any, we're gonna knock on doors and ask politely! And if that still doesn't work, we're just gonna take 'em!"

Nicely take them. With manners and the intention of giving them back eventually. They still had to live with these people for an undetermined amount of time. Best not to go making enemies.

Though, if they DID make some enemies, Kenzi was completely confident in their abilities as a duo of badassery. Also, she had a crossbow. Who the hell would mess with a chick with a crossbow?! Seriously, the only thing that could take these two out was a strong gust of wind.

"Yes!" They were going to be the greatest nerdy band of all time. Poison would be proud of the shear volume that they were going to achieve. Also it might kind of sound like music if they squint.

He was pretty sure that any music they were going to make was going to get them some enemies, but they were superheroes now. They could handle a few enemies. In fact they kind of needed one, right? Sharon might do. Yes, she would make a spectacular nemesis.

It doesn't have to sound like music as long as it's loud! Which it most definitely will be. Even if they don't manage to find any amps or speakers. Hell, she'd make a drum kit out of pots and pans if she had to.

Sharon indeed. Sharon is the perfect nemesis. She's already made the list!

Kenzi jumps down from the stool, grinning, and circles around the counter to check for anything else that might be useful.

"We're gonna need a secret handshake."

He pops up, too, and faces her. "Well, yeah, if we're gonna have a band and be superheroes!"

He sticks out his hand and starts to improvise some weird moves. Everyone better look out for them! Kobra and Kenzi are going to take over the fucking world... or at least a small chunk of the town.
