"Shoulda made me the royal cook."
No, she should've made him something way more badass than that, but that's not the point right now. Thanks to dream magic, the burgers were nearly done when this thing started, so he can take hers off now and add the fixings that are sitting on the little tray nearby. He offers it up to her, still smirking to himself.
"Go on."

She's actually being completely serious. They make it back home? And Charlie would have no real issue with having Sam and Dean that close. Maybe it would keep her from accidentally falling into situations like this. Or maybe she'd end up doing it more - you know, now that she thinks of that? No thanks.
Charlie's eyebrows shoot up when she's presented with the burger, but she puts on her best queen face as she takes it and takes her first bite. Which is actually...unbelievable. As shown with the way her eyes get really really big.
"Are you effing serious? This is awesome."

Look at Charlie. She's a total nerd and gay and a total badass even when she's freaking out.
Now his smile's turning all sappy, and while he's making strides in being okay with shit he still doesn't want to talk about feelings for no reason. Christ, they're just eating burgers. Because Dean has one now too, and his dream stomach is grateful.
And that's when an obscured figure rushes through his yard. It's sort of like the ones from the crystal dream, though colored by Dean's memory of them, since this is his reminder to himself of what he was trying to do.
"Hey," he says, mouth full until he swallows it down. "You see that?"

She only catches the last half of that sappy smile, though, because she's a little concerned with how amazing this burger is. It's just the tail end, before Dean's looking somewhere off behind Charlie and the smile drops.
"Huh?" Also in the middle of a bite, she tries to swallow it before realizing she didn't chew enough and ends up coughing. Just give her another minute or two to gather herself up here, Dean. She'll be right with you. "See what?"

By the time she's caught up, Dean's reaching for something, anything, and now he has a butcher's knife and a fighting position as he steps forward, his hand brushing Charlie's arm as he prepares to protect her if he has to. Another figure rushes past, head down and not looking at them, before it disappears into the neighbor's yard.
"That," he says, pointing with the knife. "Didn't invite him to a picnic."

It's kind of terrifying, and immediately makes Charlie lose her appetite, so she'll put that burger down and pick up...a spatula. At least she's armed.
"I didn't send him an invite. Did you?"
no subject
"Nope. Let's go check out the party." He moves toward the neighbor's yard, going slowly even still. His dreams aren't always nice places.

"Where are they even coming from?"
no subject
"Looks like Creep Central," he mutters, turning around, but the house of the first part of his dream is gone now. "Never came here on my summer vacation, though it's... kind of familiar."

Right, yes. Creepy people in the city. Priorities. "It looks more like one of my video games than anything." But the fact none of the people are looking at them is giving her the heebie geebies. "They're def running away from something, though."
