they may have rocked the house a little too hard

Who: gangster husbands Charlie Luciano and Meyer Lansky. And YOU.
What: Charlie and Meyer lose a wall of their house. Neither of them are thrilled about it. Open for anyone who wants to drop by and judge them for their lack of wall/help them build a new one
When: Day 110 (post earthquake)
Where: The little yellow house by the water aka gangster headquarters

Really, Charlie should have known better. It had been days since anything weird has happened, and as he's discovered in this place, that tends to be a sign for the worst. But he was hoping, wishing, that things would hold the fuck off until he got a few hours of sleep.

No such luck.

He awakes with a jerk, the ground around him pitching and swaying, just in time to see the far wall of the bedroom start to crumble and collapse.

There are not enough swear worlds in the world right now.

"I helped fix up the diner here, okay? And I'm not half bad at fixing cars. Can't be that different."

Really, it can, but he's irritated and feeling contrary, so of course he's going to argue with Charlie. He assumes that the two of them together can put a wall back together, but he'd rather not have to at all. Unnecessarily cranky doesn't even begin to explain the mood that's in the room right now. They're both irritated by the collapse of the wall, Charlie's groggy from having been awoken unpleasantly, and Meyer's cynicism is working overtime, trying to figure out exactly what's going to go wrong next.

"If you hadn't stayed up so late last night, you'd be..."

It's probably for the best that Charlie manages to trip over the bed frame before Meyer starts in on his comments about how late Charlie went to bed and something self-righteous about how getting up early is better anyway. He's always been a morning person, but he'd be hard pressed to define Charlie that way.

Charlie twisting his ankle and falling, though, is a lot more important than being right (remarkably, there are some things more important than being right,) and his swearing pretty much echoes Charlie's as he offers him a hand up. Again.

"Yeah, good, then we'll have no wall and no bed."

Not that they can really use the bed now anyway, since it's in a room with no wall, but it's the principle of the thing. He's not even going to waste the mental energy trying to figure out which one of them is going to be relegated to the couch until the wall gets fixed.

"You okay? You wanna sit down, maybe?"

Go ahead and try to hide it, Charlie. You can't get anything past this one, even if he can't quite read it on your face.
