That is mahogany!
Who: OPEN
What: Some crates fell from the sky
Where: The Park, near the gazebo
When: Evening, day 42
Warnings: Injury, snakes, spiders, gore, violence, strong language, will update as needed
Other: Please feel free to have characters jump around. If your character moves threads and it's relatively continuous, please link the earlier thread to the later one and try to follow a tag order/try not to cram too many people into one thread. Prose or action spam is fine. Ping a mod if you need anything!
The ropes tightly binding the metal crates together managed to keep the pyramid formation intact even as it impacted the ground. Each crate was about five feet by five feet and the entire pyramid stood at least two stories high. Some of them are empty, some aren't meant to be opened, but there are a few that contain something special.
If you can cut away the ropes and pry open the lids, you might find a real treasure! Or you might regret giving in to your curiosity.
Don't forget to share, boys and girls.

"You can't control the hungry and angry." Truth be told, he was a bit hungry himself, but he could adjust his metabolism and last longer than humans. However, even he didn't know how long he could last without something substantial eventually.
He looks at a nearby crate. "Want to crack it open?"

"Tell me about it." And she won't blame anyone for trying. Most of these people are civilians. They don't have the training she's had. But she'll find a way to make sure everyone gets the food and supplies they need.
She glances at the Doctor and follows his eyes to a crate before nodding and striding over, knife at the ready to cut the ropes. She opens the crate cautiously, alert for any noises coming from inside, then opens it all the way.
Just supplies. "A little underwhelming." She looks the slightest bit sheepish as she starts rooting through. "I was expecting something that could kill us as soon as look at us."
Whoa. Are those bullets? And the same kind her gun takes! She grabs them and sets them by her knee protectively.

The Doctor was relieved it wasn't anything sinister in this crate, he had his suspicions, but his curiosity was too intense as he peered further inside. "Hm, a knife... What else...?"

After a moment, she frowns and lowers it. "This is weird. They're up to something."
The knife seemed perfectly harmless. Well, as harmless as a knife could be.
Something was wrong. Their captors wouldn't pass up an opportunity to mess with their heads. Not now.

"For a large crate, there's not alot in there." He commented dryly and rather unimpressed. Not that he was expecting anything grand, just disappointed in the lack of resources.

"I think they're testing us. I've been tortured before. Taking away food is a way of keeping people in line. Some people will fall under Stockholm Syndrome after this. More will succumb to it once they give us more. The question is if they'll let someone die before they give us more food." She picks up the bullets from by her foot, examining them closely.
"The large crate might be a message of sorts - they can give us more, but for the moment, they choose not to."
She loads the gun with a single bullet and stands, aiming at a brick building nearby.
In seconds, Sharon has cursed and dropped the gun, holding her hand and glaring at the bullets.
"I'd guess it's also so some of our hopes get crushed," she says through gritted teeth.

He hadn't met many of the inhabitants here, but he was a bit concerned of rioting occurring and lack of teamwork. This wasn't uncommon, though, no one was safe from such an occurance, as it was found in every species, every civilization he could think of.
"Right, let's go before we get shot."

But perhaps the Doctor was right, whether he'd been suggesting it or not, and she should change her methods. She'd been trying to turn this place into SHIELD for a month and a half already, and all it had done was get people hurt or disappeared.
She wasn't ready to admit it yet, but she had gotten lucky in the Doctor staying with her. He seemed to handle her eccentricities well, and it was nice to have someone around who didn't eat much, sleep much, and would take part in experimenting on any ideas that might occur.

Although he did have some ideas he was willing to set up soon, to gather data about the place and see if he could find a way home. So far, Sharon didn't seem to mind his strange sleeping habits, or lack thereof, and that he was thankful for.

They'd be able to find things to do with their time other than looking out for a bunch of rag-tag civilians easily enough.
