Who: Meg, Open
When: Day 52
Where: The Park
What: Repairing a gazebo

Sure, Mayor Creepazoid had decided to form a reconstruction group for the damage caused by the Jolly Green Giant, but that didn't mean Meg was going to sit idly by while some morons manhandled her angel’s favourite little hiding spot. She might've been willing to make an exception if they were all gorgeous hunks who would need to remove their shirts halfway through, but the likelihood of getting a full team of hunks in this place was minimal.

Which probably explained why she was in the park, by the remains of the gazebo trying to figure out how the hell to fix it up. Give her a victim and tell her to torture them in creative ways? No problem. Give her a broken gazebo and some spare materials? Problem. She was a demon. Not a carpenter or a joiner or... whoever the hell built gazebos. But other than a demon she was also smitten with a certain angel a determined, headstrong individual. And if she said she was going to mend the gazebo then she was damn well going to mend the gazebo.

"How hard can if be? If guys can do it, it must be easy..."

"I meant the -- not the fast fast one. Jeez. You and Cas both need to learn the finer points of doing things with your hands." He pauses and glances up at her. "Speaking of simpler times."

Not that that's quite what she's describing. He sobers and pries up some wood, the muscles standing out in his arms as he pulls it up with relatively little effort, you know, in human terms.

"Yeah, things are all out of whack now." He misses Benny almost as much as he misses Sam. "You take your allies where you can get 'em, I guess." And yeah, he knows that turns what happened with Cas and Crowley into one huge mess that he doesn't know how to begin to untangle.

Did she just admit to wanting to manhandle his angel? Dean's head snaps up at that, and he can't seem to decide if he should be bothered or bothered that he's bothered or act like he's not bothered at all regardless. He could pass it off like he doesn't want her getting her hands on Cas because he still doesn't trust her intentions, but that doesn't explain what's definitely there underneath the surface: jealousy.

Thankfully, she throws him entirely off balance by complimenting his body. He glances down at himself and back up at her, disbelief in his eyes, before he decides it's all a joke, all of it. Saying she wants to bang Cas, saying he has a hot body -- she's just messing with him. He laughs hollowly and brushes it off.

"Thought you were helping me out already before you got all distracted with your sexy daydreaming." He turns back to what he's doing, though he's still clearly weirded out. Maybe what's especially weirding him out is that he's been noticing her body too. Like, objectively. He can't live in a house with her and not notice.

The question of Dean's feelings for anyone is a bit... tricky, hard to pin down, especially because he doesn't want to. His time in Purgatory was a real eye-opener though, and so was the whole year before that, systematically losing everyone, losing Bobby. It made Dean have to sit up and really appreciate the things he has. So Benny became like a brother to him, and he prayed to Cas every night because he wasn't afraid to admit how much he needed him anymore. Cas is -- well, he should be a permanent fixture in Dean's life. He needs him to be, but Cas keeps slipping away from him. And yeah, okay. Maybe Dean did some pushing of his own. He doesn't want to go back to that, though; he's okay with needing Cas as much as he does... mostly, sort of.

Which is why him and Meg being close makes him nervous. What if he loses Cas again? The two of them have some kind of bond, and what if Cas decides it's more "profound" than theirs? He's seen the two of them together. It's... sweet. Cute. He can't even begrudge it, but he can apparently be super embarrassingly jealous about it. He doesn't want to be left out.

And Meg was there for him when Dean couldn't be; she's still dedicated to him even now, and Dean can't find a speck of disingenuous in her actions. She really likes him. That's how Dean's opinion of her started loosening. And when she isn't threatening to kill him or being all moody demon, she's fun. And funny. And hot. And a good kisser.

He watches her get back to work, processing the idea that she was checking him out. It should make him feel gross right? All violated. It doesn't.

"Should I tell Cas to start getting jealous?" he says lightly, like it's a joke.

Ha. Yeah, right.

And Cas broke his brother's brain and sent him on a non-stop trip to crazy town, complete with Lucifer hallucinations, not to mention the people he killed or all the lies. And Dean took some time off once to torture people in Hell, along with a few other things he's not so proud of along the way. They've all done shit; Meg did a lot of shit to Dean and the people he cares about and that's usually a Huge Dealbreaker, but she's been an ally lately, for whatever reason. She's been taking care of Cas. For some reason, that makes up for a lot.

He could ask what's up with them, but then again, maybe it's better if he just ignores it entirely.

"There's a relief."

He focuses on pulling up this next bit of wood, not that there's much foundation left now, thanks to that big green thing. He tugs it loose and then examines it, deciding it'd be good enough to salvage, and tosses it onto the pile.

"It probably won't take us too long to put this back up," he decides, sitting back on his heels and looking over what's left. "Not with us working together."
