Cooking Lessons
Who: Alec Lightwood, Magnus Bane
Where: A kitchen
When: Day 87, lunch time
Summary: Alec's never had to cook in his life and he's turned to his ex-boyfriend for help.
There are a lot of things going wrong in Alec’s life. He’s made a mental list of them and dwelt on each one. His inability to cook, and Magnus are at the top. Today he plans to over come one and try to face the other. He’s nervous as he waits at the agreed meeting place for Magnus, naturally he is ten minutes early.
His clothes are looser on him and he’s biting at a fingernail absentmindedly. Fighting a Greater demon would be easier than this.

He had thought of it himself, hadn't he? But there's nothing he can do now. "Unfortunately life got in the way."
no subject
"But I still want to be with you, and know you."
no subject
"We'd just be repeating history."
no subject
"Maybe we wouldn't," he countered. "We can work on this, please." He turns around because he can't avoid looking at Magnus forever.

Magnus twists on his heel, cat eyes looking at Alec but they're a little emotionless now. "Your heart can mend but your body won't survive starvation."
no subject
"So, where do we start?"
no subject
He points at each neat pile as though an instructor. Magnus isn't any better at this than Alec but he can at least get the basics, "Perishables. Be careful with those. If they go off you'll get sick. You keep these separate. This stuff you're probably okay to keep a little longer."
A hum, "We can make pasta. The sauce shouldn't be difficult and you can source the ingredients around the town. I've been told we need to learn to either grow our own or hunt."
no subject
"I can hunt..." He pauses and looks across. "For the both of us...if you help with the cooking." He feels awkward, it's a very domestic proposition.
no subject
He could hunt for himself, he supposes. But only if his magic stays true. Alec has years of practise on his side. "I know a few dishes easily kept for days."

If he had magic he'd just set the knife to chopping up the vegetables. As it is he just clears the side and starts cutting them into neat little rows.
no subject
"This isn't much different to carving up a miniature demon."
no subject
Magnus wrinkles his nose, sets the neat pile aside before tossing the knife in the sink. "I'm beginning to think that killing demons is all you'll ever think about."
no subject
"At least I'm good at killing demons."

"I'll try not to mention demons around you."
