Sea monster attack!
Who: The kidnappees, rescuers, and whoever wants to wait on the beach with towels. See here for an explanation.
When: Afternoon Day 102
Where: The beach
What: The device holding the sea monster at bay has been without power for two days, and now he's... lonely. Or angry. Angry and lonely. But now he's kidnapped some new friends!
The network has been spotty, cutting in and out for a couple days now, but luckily for everyone currently in the monster's grasp, Stane happens to be standing in the middle of a decent signal area.

This was not looking good.

It's all still a bit of a blur. All bodies and hacking and slashing and flailing tentacles.
no subject
"Are you injured?"
no subject
Around him, the tentacle gives him a vicious squeeze, then flings him to one side; Wallie hits the water with a splash. Were things different he could swim to safety, but now, he simply can't. He sinks, unable to swim to the surface, and he doesn't even have the muscle control to hold his breath.
He thinks of Jja as water enters his lungs, cold and dense, and blacks out shortly after.

A short moment later, which really felt like an hour later given the Doctor's current state, he spots something break the surface of the water - Castiel and something that looked awfully alot like Donna.
Swallowing down the numbness, he quickly rushes to them. "Is she alive!?" Because he wouldn't be able to live with himself if two were killed by this beastie, as it flailed it's tentacles with rage.

"I'm fine." Well, alive at least. She'll take it for now. Cas really is her guardian angel. Saving her is becoming quite the habit.
"Everyone else?" Despite her own minor injuries, near drowning and panic attack of a life time she still finds it in her to worry for the others.
She hears the Doctor before she sees him. "Can't get rid of me that easily, Spaceman. You okay?"
no subject
He grips Donna tightly. "We should get back to shore before it makes another grab for one of us."
Part of him wants to go after Wallie--feels that he should, but if he does and it gets Donna or the Doctor killed, that would be worse. He needs to keep them both safe.

But luckily the waves did help push them to the shore, and where he could feel the bottom of the ocean floor better. Quickly, he wrapped an arm around one side of Donna, assisting her to her feet and walking upwards.
Turning back to Castiel, he opens his mouth, wondering if he too saw the fate of Wallie.

Her lungs are still burning and she feels sick from swallowing sea water but it's a small price to pay for being alive. Speaking of which... "Wasn't there another guy? Wallie?" Eyes wide, she scans up and down the shore for any sight of him.
When she's unable to spot him she pulls free from her live-saving heroes to try and get back into the water. "Doctor! Cas! We gotta go back for him!"
no subject
He doesn't say a word until they're climbing out of the water.
"I don't think going back will help."
no subject
He hated that, and hated that those words had to come out of his mouth. "He died trying to save you... a very selfless act."
no subject
"Cas... you healed your arm. You can save him, can't you? Please? Doctor? Please... we have to go back..."
The Doctor telling her that Wallie died to save her doesn't help her sense of guilt.
no subject
At his current power level, he's not sure that he could at all, but here he can barely keep himself together, let alone fly to Heaven or Hell.
no subject
He felt a swelling in his chest, feeling the guilt starting to sink in, "I wasn't able to help him."
no subject
Those tears that had been threatening to fall down run down her cheeks.
Maybe she should spend the rest of her life in solitude so no one else has to get hurt because of her.
"What about everyone else?"
no subject
He looks out at the water, torn. He wants go in after Dean, but he knows that that's not where he's needed right now.
"You should both get dry clothes."
no subject
"It's fast and powerful. We don't have anything that can really ward it off." He wasn't typically this defeatist over it, but he really didn't know what they could do.
"Are you going back?" He looks over to Castiel.
no subject
In Castiel's case that's probably literally too, since he could easily overpower just about any of them if they tried to pin him down.
Donna shivers. The adrenaline is wearing off and dry clothes sound amazing. "I want to stay. To help the others..."
no subject
He moves away and turns back to the beach. He'll do what he can, but he's not sure what that will be as he sees a few more figures dragging themselves out of the water.
no subject
He hated it. This wasn't him, this wasn't the Doctor. The man who was told with a snap of his fingers, could open the TARDIS doors. The man who's name was spoken across the universe. He hated what this place had made him become, and he was horribly aware of his limitations now more than ever.

"Come on, Spaceman. Let's go get dried off. At least we can make sure there are extra towels available for others to use."
