I'm just out of school like I'm real real cool
Who: Kobra and Daneel
Where: Their house and then the lighthouse
When: Backdated to Day 17
What: Adventuring!
Kobra was bored and when Kobra was bored, destructive things happened. Having already broken a few things in the kitchen, Kobra went searching for some new entertainment. Normally, he'd just jump all over Party or something, but the asshole was out somewhere having fun without him.
He wound up climbing up the ladder and knocking on Daneel's attic door. "Hey, man, you around?"

"Is it still fun for you?" It would be really uncool if they made it so that it wasn't. There's something so cruel about giving someone the tools without any use for the payoff.

He had thought about this, especially after the deacivation, the death of friend Jander.
"Still, it seems to me that I would find it pleasurable to provide that sort of pleasure for someone, particularly a friend whose well-being was important to me."
no subject
He was bad at explaining this, but thankfully they were almost at the lighthouse. Maybe he should let Lyds explain this stuff. She was better with words.

"I'm sorry, Kobra. I didn't mean to give that impression. On Aurora, it's not uncommon for humans to make sexual use of robots, even ones that aren't humaniform. It's usually seen as aided masturbation."
There were exceptions, perhaps, but that was how it was and he'd never thought much of it, either way. It simply was. Now, though, Daneel looked up at the lighthouse, more concerned about the potential dangers that might lie within than sexual morals.

It was pretty cut and dry to him. Daneel might not see it that way, but he had a personality and he had wants and things made him happy. He was a person in Kobra's book. He didn't know about those other robots, but he knew about Dan. They lived together and they were friends.

Well, the lighthouse. He looked up at it for a moment, considering what they might find, and reached to open the door for Kobra.

After a moment, he moved towards the stairs.
no subject
It would have been difficult for him to not say that.
no subject
"You coming?"
no subject
Daneel moved closely behind Kobra, testing the stairs cautiously under his greater weight.
"Is there something you hope to find here, Kobra?"
no subject
There was an answering creak from above and Kobra's head shot up. Oh, shit. He wasn't sure if he was excited or scared. Probably both!
no subject
He wasn't sure of that anymore, not after meeting Castiel -- whatever he is -- but the existence of supernatural, incorporeal entities didn't rest easy with him. Daneel would take almost any explanation over that one.
"I suspect pirate activity to be more likely, though I can't judge whether there would be treasure here."
no subject
"Damn."
no subject
"Don't be discouraged." He put his hand on Kobra's shoulder. "I think we're far more likely to find something at the top than on the stairs. We have plenty of ground still to cover."
no subject
There was an odd scrape-creak from above and Kobra jumped to attention. "What was that?!"
no subject
"I don't know, Kobra. Shall we investigate?"
no subject
no subject
"Have you heard anything about this lighthouse I should be aware of?"
no subject
Suddenly his head snapped to the left. There'd been a bright light just out of the corner of his eye for just a moment, but it was gone now. "Did you--"
no subject
This was... interesting, if not quite alarming, not yet. Daneel had his head up and was looking around; there might not have been anything at all -- he was familiar with the tendency human minds had for fooling themselves -- but if there was, he would see it.
If -- and it was a very large if as far as he was concerned -- there were such things as ghosts, could a robot perceive them?
no subject
He took a deep breath and took another step and then another.
He jumped. Okay, he couldn't be imagining that. "Tell me you're seeing little light flashes."
no subject
He was frowning slightly, worried, disturbed at the idea that Kobra might be hallucinating, or that he was somehow missing something like that. Neither struck Daneel as encouraging. A trick, perhaps. An illusion. That was a nicer possibility.
And then, Daneel did see something, a brief flash on the very edge of his vision; he turned towards it calmly, and discovered nothing. He shouldn't be able to hallucinate. He wasn't sure what this implied.
"No, that's incorrect. I have just seen a flash of some variety."
no subject
He let out a loud, shaky breath. "Okay. Okay, on we go, right?" This time he waited for an answer before marching on.
no subject
"Yes, we do. Be cautious, Kobra."
