servingmichael: (Watching you Fall)

I had a dream but I called it a plan

Who: Raphael and ANY ONE.
What: Raphael just arrived, he's kicking the cage looking around.
When: Day 46, all day
Where: Anywhere!
Warnings: Will be updated as needed!

Raphael had toyed with the thing on his wrist for a bit before going outside. Once or twice he attempted to fly passed the edge and ended up stuck there and having to walk back until he could fly again - but he made a map of those areas, and after a few attempts avoided them in favor of the woods, park, and buildings. As he pops in and out, there's a faint sound of thunderclaps and wings beating, but otherwise, nothing to announce him

The title meant precious little to her. Then again, she and Catholicism were on strained terms. They'd long ago agreed to see other people and only kept in touch on rare occasions, primarily out of politeness that led to uncomfortable silence.

She much preferred the artist.

"Of course, dear," she said.

Now that was a twist. Calling her human. Either she was off base with some of her assumptions about him or she couldn't identify the game. Either way, it sparked her interest enough to keep her from getting bored.

A rare commodity, these days.

"I'm afraid you're turning to the wrong person for modern turns of phrase," she said. "I'm from 1932. A relic, or so I'm told. Most people here seem to be from the early 2000s."

"Then you must know Castiel and Pendragon," she said slowly. Pretty much all she'd suspected was confirmed.

Well...almost.

"Safe to assume that you're from their world?"

Mina was already at her wrist communicator, searching among the inane conversations and videos. Opportunity was not a lengthy visitor, after all.

A moment of searching later and a small "Ah ha." She held her arm out to Raphael, allowing him to see a video of her beloved Pendragon from their most recent conversation.

"Pendragon?"

"Yes, well..." Mina pulled her arm back, giving Pendragon's image an affectionate look before shutting off the playback. "I gave it to him, actually. He's been calling himself Loki, but I don't think it suits him much. And since he wouldn't provide me with an alternative, and since we had another Loki that tried to kill me, I took it upon myself to come up with something more appropriate."

She shrugged. It was the truth, after all. Even if she had a certain motivation behind it.

"How do you know him?"

She bristled a little bit at his talk of pagans. Being a nearly lifelong pagan herself. But deep inside of her mind, fighting to get out, the Queen laughed. Because the Queen, somehow, was older than time. She seemed to enjoy Mina's discomfort.

Damn thing.

Shoving it into silence once more, she tilted her head. "So where does Pendragon compare to you?"

A line formed between Mina eyes. "So are you saying that he is or he isn't Loki?" she asked, genuinely unsure.

It wasn't a colour that looked good on her.

"Names are very important where I come from," she replied. "Having survived an incursion of sorts, I've learned that much. What name you call someone by grants them power. I suspect you'll pass that off as old superstition, but I can promise you it's far more than that."

She smiled mirthlessly, no light reaching her eyes. "I suppose you might say I'm interested in knowing what sort of monster I may have created."

And she was curious. Incurably curious.

Angels and Kindred. More in common than she would have believed two months ago.

Mina shrugged her shoulders. "Well, I don't suppose I matter that much to you. And the fact that you're trying to 'read' me clearly indicates that you don't trust me." She paused. "But the fact that you would reveal that to me indicates that you're a pragmatic individual. You know that this situation is more complicated than you would like it, which means you're probably looking for...shall we say...alliances. So you tell me: Why should you give out something of great import to a stranger?"

Normally, Mina might have bristled a bit at his assessment. But she'd learned a bit about angels. And besides being...well...arrogant and cocky, they were also far removed from humanity. She'd learned, rather the hard way, not to expect them to behave like gentlemen.

If only she could forget about the kitchen, although, in the long run, that had hardly been her worst encounter.

"I always wanted a patron," she quipped. "You are free to watch me as much as you like. There's little else to do around here. Just...promise to keep your clothing on, darling. I've had quite enough of angelic arses for one lifetime."

"That puts you one up on Castiel," she replied absently.

Although, in her book, Castiel had quite a few qualities that Raphael lacked. Oh well. There was no socializing these...things.

"The docks," Mina replied. She saw no reason to equivocate. It was well known, to anyone who cared to know, that the docks were where she went to clear her head. She enjoyed swimming, if the mood struck her. Other times, she would simply sit beside a piling and watch the water, letting her mind wander for hours on end.
