The Distraction Plan Unveiled
Who: Dilandau Albatou and everyone who wants to participate.
Where: The Woods
When: Day 75
The previous few days have been busy setting up the plan and now it's time to put it into action. It's dawn of the 75th day and Dilandau is at the edge of the woods, eager for the destruction that's going to follow.
"Get into your positions." Is the only order he snaps out. "And when I say run, you run back towards the Time Lord's house as fast as you can."
OOC: Jump in whatever thread you like, have the characters communicate however you wish. Here is the plan of what'll be going down. We can handwave recruitment if nothing's been formally arranged.

People getting into place
Firestarters
"I've got something to help you. Don't waste it by drinking it."
He pulls out bottles of alcohol and passes them out to his volunteers. With each bottle comes a match.

She shakes her head when he offers her the bottle and the match, however. "I don't need it," she notes. To demonstrate, she holds up her right hand and, very carefully, calls on the energy she'll need for this little stunt. Her 'trigger finger' lights up with flame, all around it, a subtle little fire. No need to make a big deal out of being a human flamethrower, at the moment.
no subject
"Maybe you're not so bad after all." He tucks the bottle under his arm. "I'll keep this for myself. Until I give a signal you need to man your bear trap. The more the runners catch for us, the more effective the end will be."

"Don't touch the bottles with your hands." Because then the stuff will stick and you'll regret it.
"Anyone a good shot with a bow?" They're going to need to light them somehow.
no subject
"Do we keep this in the bottle or do we pour it out?"
no subject
"It'll stick to anything and keep burning." It is a quick recipe that she thinks will work. She's planning on only hitting the bears though.

Re: People getting into place
He waits, and watches, feeling deeply uneasy about this whole thing.

That's enough reason. Besides, it might be a laugh.
He senses Rat in place as he passes by on his way, and pauses to peer over at him. "You're awfully deep in the wood here. Do you have anything to defend yourself with?"
no subject
"This is where I was told to be... you okay?" He doesn't look at all happy about being here.
no subject
Balthazar blinks slowly at the rusty hoe. "That's...were you morally opposed to a real weapon or was it just that no one thought to arm you? I don't think that's going to be useful against robot bears."

People chasing the Bears

That's what she wants. The growl crawls up her throat and she drops to all fours, scouting through the woods. When she finds it, she picks up a small rock that she tosses at the bear....
The rock goes wide, but it serves the purpose. There's a whirring of mechanicals. The bear turns and looks at her. It starts moving toward her. She takes a step back. Brigid knows she needs to draw it into chasing her.
... Here Little Bear, chase the Big Bad Wolf.

Fortunately, there's always telekinesis, and after he rolls one of them over and lodges it against a tree, the second seems prepared to come after him. Without knowing it, he begins to lead it through the woods and toward town along the same angle Brigid's taking. They may run into one another. Hopefully not literally.

"No picnic today." She almost purrs, then she jumps up onto a log. The bear starts lumbering after her. Brigid teases it along and then drops to all fours, looking over her shoulder. The bear does the same thing.
.... It's faster on four legs.
Her eyes widen and she tears off through the woods, using every ounce of werewolf speed that she has. Stopping to cling to a tree, she lets her senses open. The bear is still following her, with others on their way. She drops to the ground and then growls, dropping close to the forest floor.
"Saint Balthazar?" The words are deeper, garbled around her fangs, but intelligible.
no subject
He skids briefly to a stop at the sight of her, surprised. He knew there would be others playing bait, but he didn't expect to run into them. "Oh! Shite! I didn't mean to lead them onto you. Go! Go! Keep moving!"

Everything burns
"Set it off and run!" He barks out to the network.
Only those who've been given extra instructions would realise what he wants set off, but it very soon becomes clear as multiple explosions rock the woods. He throws a match into an alcohol-soaked pile of deadwood of his own and howls in glee as it goes up in flame. Their captors will have no choice but to fight the fire if they wished to live.
no subject
"What are you doing?" He moves swiftly into Dilandau's personal space, using every ounce of intimidation he has. "You're going to get people killed."
no subject
"They'll never expect this, god!" It's so glorious that even being glared down by a being like him can't calm the manic thrill of it all. "They'll burn trying to fight it while we flee."
no subject
With a final glare, he disappears to try to calm the fires. After a while, they start to slowly die down.
no subject
It's only then that he realises what the angel is doing. He shrieks in a furious rage as the furthest fire to the east dies down.
"How dare you?! How dare you help them!?"
Re: Everything burns
He keeps a cool head, and the first time he finds his way blocked by burning brush, he simply changes course to find a way around it. The second time, he can't even tell if the woods are actually still on fire anymore, but the smoke is thick. He's coughing hard, and struggles to call out Balthazar's name.
no subject
He can sense the call, whether Rat's able to vocalize fully or not. A split second later, he's there in a flurry of wings, and sputtering a little at the thickness of the smoke. He places a hand on the man's shoulder, gripping his shirt lapel with the other, and without explanation or greeting, pulls him through space to the forest edge.
The air is clearer where they land, as if they're upwind of the smoke now. "Steady, there. You all right?"
