Who: Anna Milton and OPEN
What: Crazy plot shenanigans
Where: All over the place! In yo' houses, up in yo' bar, all over the place.
When: Days 33-39
Notes: Put whatever day you want Anna from in the subject line for varying levels of crazy, if you please. There's a guide to her hallucinations so that you have a general idea of what she's going to be up to and doing. This is a catch-all log for everything from random hilarious mistaking someone-for-God shenanigans all the way through to lovely delicious feelsy breakdowns. Hit me with your best shot, babies. And now for some prosey wank to make it look like a real log :O
It's driving her insane. The people following her, the feeling that something inside of her is rising up and pushing out of her chest, it won't get any better. And then she recognises the faces and everything changes, and it goes from a desperate fight to find out who to a pained attempt to reconcile her guilt. There's no sense to it, and an incredibly logical part of Anna knows full well that it can't be them, but who could turn that opportunity away?
...Of course, it doesn't stop there, that'd be far too easy. Of course it isn't just her parents, it's so much more than that, and it's not long before that last grasp on reality, that last logical train of thought slips. Her mother, her father, and now her Father? Anna's just too wrapped up to think about anything other than the reconciliation.

Day 37, their place?
"What's up?"
good yes good
"What do you mean, 'what's up'?"
And there is definitely something up. She's normally so together, but she's all but given up on that. She's a mess, there's no way around that, and she just frowns at him for a moment. Right now, things are okay. Right now, there isn't dead people screaming guilty obscenities at her. "Things are fine."
no subject
But evidently for different reasons. Odin and the gang may be unnerving to him, but Anna has no reason to avoid them. And it's obvious that she's trying to avoid someone, so--
"You're running and you're doing a crap job of trying to hide it. Tell me what it is you're running from, and I'll kick its ass. Okay?"
no subject
They're right, after all. It's her fault, all of it, and it is definitely her fault that they're dead now. Sure, there's the demons who did the deed, but she tied the nooses around their necks the moment she Fell.
She's too tired for aggression though, and she just looks around the room very carefully for any signs of her parents before turning back to him. "I'm not running, okay, I'm not. I'm just- I can't talk to them right now, alright? It's too much. They won't stop."
no subject
"Fine, not running. Who are you not-running from, then? I promise not to maim them."
Unless they deserve it.
"Look. Anna. You need to calm down. Deep breaths, yeah?"
no subject
"Look, it's- it probably sounds crazy, but I know it's them. They're here, and it was so nice at first, they-"
He's right. She needs to stop and breathe, and after a moment she just shakes her head. "My parents. They're in town."
no subject
He hadn't been paying attention, really; he's been pretty distracted. He's willing enough to believe it's true, though - he has no reason to think otherwise, at this point.
"Do they know about you?"
no subject
Obviously.
She'd been pretty clued in the first couple of days. She'd been sure something was up, had stayed away and made a point not to engage, but as things wore on and they got kinder - well, things got crazier, and it became a lot easier to believe that they were there with her. Except the warm fuzzy reception has worn off, and now it's just constant verbal abuse instead.
"They know. I don't know how, but maybe when they died or something. I think someone on the other side told them some things though, they know far too much, Gabriel."
no subject
He purses his lips. No one on the other side should have been able to have told them anything, not with the Heaven system in place - it's possible, of course, that they could somehow have found out, but there's something about it that's beginning to sound a little dodgy.
"How're they taking it? I mean, they're good little Christians, right? Probably pleased as punch to have an angel in the family, right?"
Does it come across that he thinks they might not be? He's a little too stressed at the moment to bother with playing casual successfully.
no subject
She's still hesitant, but maybe he can help somehow. She's not got a lot of other options at this point. She just rubs her hands over her face slowly, smooths her hands down over her hair and then takes a deep breath.
"My mother, she says I shouldn't be an angel. And now it feels like, well-" Another pause, that comes with eyeing Gabriel carefully, "It feels like my Grace is leaving."
no subject
Or rather, not probable. Does being here count as being disconnected from Heaven? Could she be subconsciously removing it herself?
"It can't be just leaving. Not without someone's say-so. How sure are you?"
no subject
Apart from the part where that is pretty close to insanity, and she's almost certain that it can't actually reject the way she feels it is. Logic was lost a few days ago, and now she's just panicked. She looks at him for a moment, and then closes her eyes. It visibly takes a lot of effort, but she disappears and reappears a few feet to the other side, and just that looks like it's exhausted her.
"That shouldn't be that hard. I'm pretty certain. I think it's leaving me, I think- I think it's HIs way of saying I shouldn't have come back."
no subject
Whyever it is, he's not completely convinced that she could accidentally Fall just like that, but clearly something's up with her. That shouldn't take any effort at all.
"Did you-- did you touch anything funny? Like the time you lost your voice?"
Day 36?
He was strolling along the coast when he noticed a woman looking a bit worried. "Oi!" He called over, in a gesture to help.
no subject
And if she'd been concerned about that, well this is a whole different level. When it comes down to it, she doesn't want to lose her Grace again, not like this. She needs it now, to protect herself if nothing else. Not to mention more of them arriving is starting to complicate things. She has no idea that she's doing it to herself, which makes it almost impossible to figure out why it's happening.
"My parents here, this. It can't be just a coincidence."
Excellent!
And then she sees him, and at first her expression is blank. She doesn't recognise him, she's never seen him, but everything feels a bit blurry, and then suddenly it clicks. She does know him, she'd recognise that face, that voice anywhere. She doesn't even bother to walk the distance, just disappears only to reappear in front of him seconds later, and throws her arms around his shoulders to hug him tightly.
"Dad! How are you here, you're dead."
Day 34 at her place?
When she finally becomes aware that someone else is in her space, she ignores it. She's been sensing that a lot lately, but that doesn't mean Steve is here. It doesn't mean Peggy or Natasha - her Natasha - are back. It just means that she has to be careful who and what she trusts. Her own brain isn't making the trust list right now.
Fucking Kore.
no subject
"I'm... not dead!" He got one hand free, "And pretty sure... not your dad!" Although he did fancy the ginger hair.
wow i'm sorry best way to start cr ever >_> <_<
"What are you talking about, it's me, it's Anna."
Never mind the fact that he's too young, that they look nothing alike. She's just irrational enough, just burdened enough by her guilt, and just helpless enough that she's seeing the faces of her parents anywhere. This poor stranger, all he's done to earn this is be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and now he has a rather overemotional, fallen angel weighed down by the deaths of her parents to deal with.
"I'm so sorry, Dad, I didn't mean for any of this to happen. I didn't think they would come for you and Mom, I swear."
yyyy
"Sharon, someone's after me."
Which is clearly a great way to replace such niceties as 'hello' and 'how are you', but there's no time for that. Anna has all but literally hit the ground running, and her words come as soon as she appears. Seconds later she walks around the kitchen table, sits down and looks closely at the other woman.
"Two someones, actually."
hahaha, it's hilarious!
This place was starting to become really strange, between people running around warning him of things, and, well, this. He had been a father before, but that was a long, long, time ago.
"I think you have me confused for someone." He tries to be nice and smooth out the fabric resting on her shoulder, "I don't know you, and trust me, I rarely forget who I meet."
no subject
It doesn't make any sense than he can understand, but he'll admit it's too big a coincidence to be, well, coincidental.
"It's worth checking out. I doubt Dad's behind it, but someone else could be. Asshole scientists, or maybe someone a little closer to home. I still wouldn't say I trust everyone here."
no subject
....And she just appeared in front of him, no thoughts as to the consequences. Crap.
"I am so sorry," she blurts out quickly, taking another step away. Perhaps he didn't notice the disappearing act, or didn't see, or something. Maybe she still has a shred of luck left on her side. "I thought- well, I thought you were someone else. Stupid, he couldn't be here. I'm sorry."
no subject
God, she's tired. She's spent days in constant movement, and it shouldn't be wearing we down but it is, and that in itself is just more reason to be concerned. Maybe he doesn't have to keep moving again right away, maybe she can stay in the house just a few moments longer. After all, they had told her they wouldn't come into this house.
"Do you really think the scientists could do this? I know they're obviously powerful, but taking away my grace. I didn't think they'd be able to."
no subject
For it not to have affected anyone else - as far as he knows - definitely makes it worthy of note, too. He drags a hand through his hair, frustrated.
"Just your luck, huh? All this shit happening at once. We'll find out what's causing it."
Though frankly he has no idea where to start. Interrogating Anna's parents seems like the only option, but that might not go down too well with her.
no subject
"I'm sorry, do you hear anything?" He's looking around, searching for a source. "Are you with anyone?"
The strange paranoia of his started when he arrived here, and the nagging feeling had only become worse with each day. Today, every so often, he thought he heard someone knocking.
no subject
"Who's after you?"
no subject
It's not often that anyone sees him reacting in any way other than amused, mocking and sarcastic, and had it not been for the rather obvious distraction Anna would probably have found it almost a little endearing.
Instead she just drops her arms to her sides, hands shoved into pockets as she tips back to look out of a window. She's got to be careful, they always seem to be around.
"They were always so nice. I guess death makes people angry."
no subject
She thinks, anyway. For a moment she pauses and quickly surveys the area, because there's every chance that dear mom and dad have gone and snuck up on her again. They're very good at doing that, it seems. After a careful inspection of the area around her she turns back to the stranger, and that careful look is turned towards him instead. He's certainly...strange.
"What can you hear? Everything's quiet, I'm sorry."
Obviously this guy was just crazy.
no subject
Anna has to eye the details in Sharon's face closely for a moment. It's not like her vision is having any issues at all, but for some reason the details are becoming more difficult to distinguish. That's probably why she hasn't recognised who it is who is following her yet.
"They're probably here to take me back."
no subject
If his had stuck, he might have been pretty annoyed too. But, if you give him a moment, he'll stop dwelling on being dead himself and start putting a few pieces together.
"Angry in general, or at... [hm. tact.] anyone in particular?"
no subject
Still, he's been pretty good at helping her out of tight spots so far, and it's not like she has much to lose. What's he going to do, tut and shake a finger at her too?
"Angry at me. They're...really mad at me."
no subject
There's not much he can do, to be honest. Comfort's not his forte, and it doesn't seem there's a lot he can do about her parents being angry. Talking to them, given his particular knack for being annoying and rude, would probably just make it worse.
"I mean, sure, it was kind of because of you, but it wasn't your fault. They've no right to be pissed."
no subject
"You think they're angels? I thought you said they couldn't track you here." Had she said that? Sharon isn't entirely sure here what she's imagining and what has really happened.
"Or was it that you couldn't sense anything beyond... I forget. Explain- Could you explain how they could be here?"
Going crazy or not - no, hallucinating or not, Sharon doesn't want to order Anna around if she can help it. Anna isn't like Sharon. Angels aren't supposed to take orders from people like Sharon.
Oh, Jesus. Sharon thinks she's talking to an angel.
How long has she been crazy? Is she in a padded room right now, wearing a jacket with long sleeves?
no subject
Of course she says it, because it's what anyone wracked with guilt would say. She doesn't think about her parents as much as she had done in the early days, back when she'd first reacquired her Grace, but these days she can't get them out of her mind. Something to do with the constant appearances, probably.
Not that it'll do anything to fix it. No matter what she does she can't take their deaths back, and she can't make them any less angry about it. Justifiably so, of course, but that doesn't make it any easier to deal with.
"They've got every right. It's just- I'm tired, that's all. I need a breather. They won't come here though, they don't like angels."
no subject
She's rambling, she knows she's rambling and she quickly cuts herself off as she drops her gaze to the table. This is too much for her to deal with alone, finally, which is why she's come to Sharon. She can't think of anyone else who will be able to deal with this. Castiel has no powers, Balthazar is still missing and Gabriel- he's her favourite of the siblings, yes, but he's not exactly the most self sacrificing of her siblings.
No, Sharon's the one who can help her at the moment.
"Look, I don't know if you can help but I do know you're better at this than most. I need to lay low, I can't go back in Sharon, I really can't."
no subject
But he's well aware that even if she does know it rationally (and he's not sure of that), actually believing it is another thing entirely. Especially with the kind of guilt complex almost all of Team Free Will's allies seem to have.
"Not very good Christians if they don't like angels. Not that it isn't understandable in some cases. But hey, they're probably tired too, right? Can't be too restful, yelling at you all day. Might as well take all the breathers you need."
no subject
Not exactly what Sam had said to her, but it'll do.
"First, I promise that I'll do whatever I can to help you. Second, do you really believe anyone here would sell you out?" Never mind the fact that Sharon's paranoia is approaching heights she hasn't known for years. The only reason she isn't attacking Anna right now is that she isn't entirely certain that Anna is there. Not after that conversation she'd had with Dum Dum earlier this morning.
So for the time being, whereas it concerns someone else's problems, she can play devil's advocate.
"If you couldn't reach outside the barrier, I doubt any of them could, either."
sorry for the late reply. Work kind of consumed me there for a bit
He shakes his head, "Nothing, you're right. I just..." He rubs the back of his head a bit sheepishly before inhaling deeply and looking back at her, "I think this makes us even. I'm not your father, though I might be old enough to be, and it's just you and me here."
