What: Hallucinating...

At some point throughout the day, wherever people were on the cape, there was the likelihood of seeing Meg. Not just seeing Meg, but seeing Meg wandering around looking nervous and occasionally running as though her life depended on it and waving a rather deadly looking angel blade around, slashing at thin air.

Of course, as far as Meg was concerned she really was running for her life. She was running from some very vicious, and very pissed off hellhounds.

At first she thought she'd been hearing things – a snuffle here, a growl there, a raking of claws. But then it started to become more regular. And now? Now she was running.

She couldn't even lock herself in a building and salt the doors and windows because she would ultimately be trapping herself within the salt lines. So her only option was to run and to fight as best she could.

The only reason the scientist is still alive is a mixture of angelic intervention and the possibility of escape. He has more faith in his ability to get away from these people than he does in their collective intelligence. And so he waits. No longer tied to a chair, but handcuffed to a radiator. They seem to have forgotten.

Mina could learn to live with not being a doctor. She could even learn to live with having no respect or authority. But after over a month of this nonsense, she would be damned if she was going to live the rest of her unlife with the sparkling. Her moods had always been vivid and mercurial enough without the cosmetic assistance, thank you very much. She was sick and tired of the constant reminder of the mistakes that had been made in Chicago and, while she had no proof that it would work, she finally decided to try burning it all off.

Certainly, she had enough anger.

So, well into the night, after waking and brooding over the predicament for a few hours, Mina dressed in a long, white button-down shirt and walked, barefoot, out to the docks. She moved to the extreme end of the remotest of piers (not that there were so many to choose from) and stared out at the inky black water.

It wasn't hard at all. She held her arms out to either side (the irony of the posture was not lost on her), leaned her head back, and let all the rage and anger and frustration that had been building since she returned to Chicago rise to the surface. Her skin started to shimmer and shine like sunlight on the snow. And the more she let her anger loose, the brighter she sparkled. She wanted to get hot, she wanted to utterly burn out this fae infection. And even if she had no indication or reason to believe that it would work, a part of her had to admit that it felt good to try.
