It had been a pleasant morning. The power had surged, blowing out a few minor appliances, before settling back to normal. The sun had been high in the sky and the bird had been chirping. The residents of Kore couldn't ask for a nicer day, at least not if they're being realistic.

That's why it's likely a surprise when the entire town begins to shake without warning. Things fly from shelves and animals scatter as the town is overtaken by a massive earthquake.

The worst of the shaking is centered around the General Store where poor little Maggie is looking for a box of crackers. The shaking is so violent that the building itself crumbles around her and he scream can be heard echoing in nearby buildings.

Who: The residents of Cape Kore
Where: The center of town, near the ruined fountain
When: Day 100
What: Stane gathered some supplies for a community fire. Consider this a party-style post reacting to the lack of power and the loss of the communicators.

After the power goes out, Stane spends a few minutes standing stock still in the room, holding his breath and waiting for it to come back, but he doesn't waste too much time lingering in that kind of hopefulness. People are going to need things; they're going to need fire to cook and boil water, and they're going to need to do something about the food that's going to spoil.

It's so important that he helps them. It's so important that he helps them stay alive. Maybe the dream sharing is getting to him, maybe it's made his nightmares... feel real, but...

They're going to survive this. He's determined.

He gathers some wood that can be used for firewood and kindling, and he leaves them in the center of the town; he has no way of announcing that the things are there, really, but he cups his hands around his mouth and shouts a general Go to the fountain! Maybe someone will hear him.

Who: Laura Hawley; Ned and Private Miles Ryan (NPC). Also, any witnesses that want to wander along by (provided they play along with the conditions)
What: To cut a long story short, Laura gets shot and Ned revives her. Yay?
When: forward dated to day 56; mid-afternoon?
Where: Town square, around where a lovely fountain used to be!
Warnings: Character death. I'm going to go ahead and repeat that again to be sure: character death (I don't know how to make that red but if I could I would PAY ATTENTION PLEASE). Laura and the NPC are dying in this log. Also guns/violence/maybe bloody stuff/probably language lets be honest. Just generally tread with caution in this one I guess?

Warnings: It might get messy and a little violent

The only reason the scientist is still alive is a mixture of angelic intervention and the possibility of escape. He has more faith in his ability to get away from these people than he does in their collective intelligence. And so he waits. No longer tied to a chair, but handcuffed to a radiator. They seem to have forgotten.

Warnings: With our mix of characters, it's not out of the realm of possibilities that this could get a little violent.

A bruised, middle-aged man in a lab coat was tied to a chair. He kept his eyes closed, breath slow, but anyone who looked could tell he wasn't really sleeping.

Where: The docks and the surrounding area
When: Late afternoon of day 19
What: Some rumblings, some people falling into the water and getting scraped up. The usual.
Notes: Feel free to have multiple threads, thread-jump, etc!
Warnings: -

The shaking started slowly around the docks, building up in intensity until the wood began to clatter against itself in the water. The waves crashing up on the shore were getting more and more agitated and choppy as the shaking persisted.

What: An earthquake is going to level the diner with a poor NPC inside (more info here)
